《广播与电视技术》（月刊）创刊于1974年，由国家广播电影电视总局主管，国家广播电影电视总局广播电视规划院主办。
《广播与电视技术》2001年入选中国期刊方阵，并被国家新闻出版总署评为“双效期刊”。2002年被评为“国家期刊奖百种重点期刊”。
《广播与电视技术》作为广电系统历史最悠久的国家级优秀科技期刊和专业核心期刊，长期以来服务于广电系统的广大科技工作者，为业界管理者和技术人员提供最权威、最可靠的信息资讯，为广播电视事业的发展建立了不可磨灭的业绩。《广播与电视技术》历经30多年的发展，已经成为广播电视界最具有影响力的技术期刊。

《广播与电视技术》（月刊）是在国家新闻出版总署注册的国家级正式出版物，通过邮局在国内外公开发行。期刊覆盖广电行业各级机构（包括行政管理、电视台、电台、网络公司等）和相关行业及大专院校等。除大陆读者外，香港、台湾、新加坡、美国、英国、澳大利亚等均有订阅者。近几年来，由于技术趋于互通，行业趋于融合，众多的通信、互联网、教育、科研院校等机构的管理者和技术科研人员更加关注本刊的内容，使期刊的发行范围和发行量越来越大。
